You *are* being tested on your ability to understand the argument [a passage] makes, how the argument is structured and conveyed, and sometimes the assumptions underlying that argument. The argument is the point, not the facts. If there weren’t an argument, there would be no test.
You need to be able to step back and don’t miss the forest for the trees.
